About the study questions

The study questions are prepared for individual or group discussions, or for adaptation for church use.

Those for group use have focus on application and challenges of our faith, and care, support and admonishment, i.e. increased focus in our relationship with others, and within our community.
See below for an Example Study.

Questions for church use can be adapted in many different settings. For example, to prepare Sunday and corporate worship, as part of the sermon or prayer, cell group study and so on.

Further, the studies are organised on a monthly basis. In each month, there are study materials for individual study, others for group, and the remaining one or two for church or community use.
A good scheme is that the individual materials are used before that for the group. Then, anything relevant from the individual can be used in the group reflection since everyone would have looked at the materials. If the materials are used in the church arrangement then we can assume the individual and group materials have been used.

Some adjustments to the above scheme will be necessary to fit with your church calendar, personal circumstances, or other pressing priorities and interest for group studies. An alternative is to swap one month with another, rather than mixing study materials from different month. This helps with aligning everyone to one timetable.

Some months have fewer studies, especially periods of Easter and Christmas. This takes into consideration that churches will hev additional programmes and priorities, so that attention of the ANSWERS studies can resume at prior levels after such seasons.

It is recommended that Individual studies commence before or at the same time as Group ones, so that discussion points from the Individual studies can be extended to the group. Beyond that, the psalms can be in any useful sequence.

The questions for the Church studies should be adapted by worship leaders to fit with church activities, e.g. they can use the questions to prepare their prayer, sermons, etc., or to help with planning for breakfast fellowship, elders’ meetings, etc.
